A boutique marketing agency dedicated to the wedding industry

Home / About

I am a twenty year veteran of the wedding profession. I have spent time as everything from a baker/designerChristine Boulton, owner of Think Like A Bride to writer to speaker and business consultant.

After three years of working with all types of wedding professionals through my Think Like A Bride consulting on how to increase their sales I was growing increasingly frustrated with the difficulty in implementing agreed upon marketing plans to improve their sales.

My frustration was not with my wedding professional clients, but with the service providers needed to create and deliver the custom marketing tools needed by my clients. Very often it seemed that they could not find the people with the needed skills, or my clients suffered excessively high costs or lengthly delays.

So I have created The Agency at Think Like A Bride to provide wedding professionals an easy, affordable path to implement proven marketing techniques to increase their income by successfully reaching today’s bride.

In my quest to understand as much as possible about all areas of our profession I have worked with stationery firms, floral design companies, bridal salons, wedding planners and caterers down in the trenches where the real questions arise. I have worked through bridal market with publishers, salon owners, designers and the people that work with the factories overseas. I have stood on my feet for hours on end at monster bridal shows just like you have. I have managed impossible deadlines for impossible brides when it was my name on the invoice, just like you have. I know what it takes to make a business in our profession work because I’ve done it, for 18 years I owned a top tier boutique bakery.

One thing I have noticed is how much this industry and the clients we serve have changed over time. The last five years have brought on major upheavals. The way we do business has changed and so have the people we serve.

Today I concentrate on helping small wedding businesses succeed. Marketing to this new generation of brides is a new ballgame and unless you are on top of it you are missing the boat. I have set up a variety of marketing tools for my clients such as email newsletters, blogs, advertorials and social marketing campaigns. Some of my clients have included Mon Cheri Bridal, Weddings the Bridal Show, Erica Koesler, Simplicity Gourmet and Tennessee Wedding and Events Specialists Association.

Today’s brides were raised with the internet, and that is resulting in the need for major marketing changes. Unless you are on top of the changing landscape of marketing in the new media you will never reach the brides you are seeking. You know as well as I do that running your own business leaves very little time to keep up on anything else. That is where I come in handy. Let me put together an marketing strategy that works for you in today’s changing marketing.

I will help you uncover what is and is not working in your current marketing plan. Together we will define your market. I will help you craft a message that targets the brides that best fit your preferred client profile. With the help of my advice and services, you will discover things about your business and your market that you never knew. Sometimes it takes a new set of eyes to see the problems that are right in front of you.

And remember, every dollar spent on marketing falls into one of two categories…

  1. It’s either free, because the additional business return more than covered it’s cost,
  2. or it was a wasted dollar.

What category do your marketing dollars fall into?
