Happy Holidays my friends. Some of us are hitting that insane time of holiday parties and begging for January and some of us are enjoying the lull before the January rush.
Niche marketing can be a smart thing for the small business. It allows you to fine tune your focus down to a laser like point rather than a shotgun blast. Well here is an interesting niche for wedding professionals that you may not have thought of: first marriages over 45.
I am putting this in the Horror column because I have been personally horrified at what I have seen pass as SEO lately. I have ranted about it on The Agency blog and snickered at it on Twitter now it comes to Think. In fact, I may just have to permanently change this column to Search.
Since its right around the corner I thought you might like a heads up on some of the trend brides are seeing on the web. It might not be a bad idea to try and incorporate a few in you booth at the upcoming bridal shows.
We are going through a major realignment in our industry. Not so long ago, brides were of the mindset that their budget was dictated by the goods and services that they felt they must have. If they felt they deserved The Plaza and a Vera Wang, they begged, borrowed or stole the budget needed to get it. That is about to flip.
Bridal shows are about personal engagement. Marketing today is built around personal engagement. Should be a win/win, shouldn’t it.
Maybe so, maybe not; it all depends on how you work it.
Last month I picked apart the numbers on The Wedding Report. It seems I wasn’t the first by a long shot. The Wall Street Journal did the same over a year ago.
Well, another year’s busy season is behind most of us. Now it’s time to really get busy!
